How do you break up with someone in love with you?

Been with my boyfriend for six years. We've been thru alot and I love him and don't want to break it off but for my sake I need to. We have a whole life and he has supported me for almost a year due to choice. ( Gotta say being a 1950's house wife is not my thing.) Which is making it harder b/c I have no place to go. And neither does he for now. So we have time to talk and time to try and get guilted into staying. Every night for a week so far we've had a talk. None the less we tried to work it out. Six years deserves a chance but my heart just wasn't in it. We broke it off then one day later he re-proposed to me. I said no it's to soon I need time. What do I do. I know he loves me but I need to know what else is out there. I'm only 27. He won't let go and like I said it's hard for me too. Again I don't want to but need to. P.s this is a gay relationship. And this is one part I left out. I'm starting to question my sexuality. Oh boy do I have alot on my plate. Any help would be GREAT thanksHow do you break up with someone in love with you?
