How to break up with someone you love?

so I've been dating this guy and have genuinely fallen for him. he seems to be growing distant and i feel as though he just wants it to end. neither one of us are confrontational so its basically coming down to whose going to have the back bone to end it. i would rather make things work but it seems pretty clear that he doesn't but how do you end something that you don't want to end? my biggest dilemma is i know im going to cry and well i don't cry in front of people. i never have i prefer to do that in the shower away from everyone where no one can see me as being vulnerable or weak. and i refuse to break up via the phone text email or any other way but in person. i guess the real question is how do i get a backbone and how do i approach this? How to break up with someone you love?
Breakups are always tough, but if you're both growing apart and he's made it pretty clear that he doesn't really CARE if you work things out or not - it's time to suck it up and end it.


Just make plans to get together one night, find a quiet place to talk and tell him : Things have been off lately between the two of you. He seems rather distant and doesn't seem like he cares about the relationship anymore. You don't want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with you.


He's sure to want to talk about it or explain himself.


Crying in front of people sucks, I know. I don't do it, either, but there are times when you just have to.

There's never an easy way to break up with someone. I guess the easiest way is just to straight up tell him. About the vulnerability issue, well I think it's be best if you just try not to think about other's opinions about you. Most girls will cry when they break up with someone they love. People aren't going to see you as vulnerable for that. I don't know if I completely answered your question but I hope it help.
If you are that emotionally attached then you probably wont be able to do it without crying... By the way maybe he doesnt want to be in it anymore cause he feels you havent totally given yourself to him which is what you havent done if you are afraid to show emotion in front of him... You cant always be strong.. Guys like to know they are stronger than you even if they arent...
dont you cry, babe. I know its hard to fall in love with the guy who doesn't like you or doesn't serious with you. I think you must break him up immediately if you dont wanna have more pain in ur heart.
